In the temple city of Tamilnadu, Rameswaram, where his father, Jainulabdeen, owned a boat and served as imam of the local mosque, he lived with his family.
Ashiamma, his mother, was a housewife at the same time. His family consisted of four brothers and one sister, with Kalam being the youngest. His ancestors were wealthy merchants and landowners with vast property holdings.
Due to the opening of the Pamban Bridge, their business of transporting pilgrims and trading in food items suffered enormous losses over time. As a result, Kalam’s family had fallen on hard times and struggled to survive. Kalam was forced to sell newspapers at a young age to supplement his family’s income.

Throughout his life, he maintained a close relationship with his older siblings and their extended families, regularly sending them small amounts of money despite remaining a lifelong bachelor.
Integrity and simplicity were hallmarks of Kalam’s life. He never owned a television and was accustomed to getting up at 6:30 or 7 a.m. and going to bed at 2 a.m. His few personal belongings included his books, his veena, a few articles of clothing, a CD player, and a laptop. In July 1980, the satellite vehicle successfully launched the Rohini satellite into near-Earth orbit. Between the 1970s and 1990s, Kalam got government LV and SLV projects. He oversaw two projects, Project Devil and Project Valiant, which intended to create ballistic missiles using the technology developed by the successful SLV programmed. Kalam persuaded Indira Gandhi to seek hidden money for these aerospace initiatives. In the 1980s, his study and vast knowledge garnered him and the country significant honors.

His pivotal role in the country’s nuclear weapons tests in 1998 cemented India’s status as a nuclear power. Kamal was suddenly a national hero who will be remembered for generations.
The tests he conducted, however, provoked a major commotion in the international community. Kamal proposed a national plan dubbed Technology Vision 2020, which he described as an excellent method to alter India’s status from developing to developed in 20 years. APJ Abdul Kalam President
Sir Kalam was the rightful 11th President of India. His presidency lasted from July 25, 2002 to July 25, 2007. He was elected with a huge margin of victory in a presidential election in 2002. The National Democratic Alliances’ nomination for president was endorsed by the Samajwadi Party and the National Congress Party. He was often referred to as the people’s president because of his numerous contributions to the welfare of the people and the country as a whole.
He was daring and gutsy enough to make and implement decisions that were difficult, delicate, or even contentious. Perhaps the most difficult Act he had to sign was the “office of profit.” According to the English Act of Settlement in 1701, the “office of profit” indicates that no one individual who has a professional set up under the royal family, who has some type of provision with or is receiving a pension from the prince has the right to work for the “House of Commons.” This will give the royal family no influence over administrative conditions.
In 2005, he became one of the most talked-about presidents rule for implementing the Presidents’ rule in Bihar. Kalam declared his desire to return to the role but then changed his mind.
After saying his goodbyes at the office, he relocated and began his career as a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong. He taught Aerospace Engineering at Anna University in Tamil Nadu. With his presence and knowledge, he also illuminated educational institutions such as the Indian Institute of Indore and the Indian Institute of Bangalore. Sir Kalam was the chancellor of India’s Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram.
In 2012, he launched a programme called “What Can I Give?” with the goal of ridding the country of corruption.
