It would appear that NBA star Dwyane Wade is going to pursue legal action in order to formally change the gender of his transgender daughter and give her the name Zaya.

More than two years have passed since Zaya first disclosed that she identifies as transgender, and now this has occurred.

The Blast has legal documents showing It's Wade wants to change his child's name from Zion Malachi Airamis Wade to Zaya Malachi Airamis Wade.

In February 2020, Wade described his daughter's journey. Wade said he and Gabrielle Union are proud parents of an LGBTQ+ child and proud allies. "We take our parental roles seriously."
